Kirsty is an experienced family lawyer and criminal defence litigator.
Kirsty’s expertise in family law focuses on providing advice on care of children matters following separation, including substantive care arrangements and guardianship disputes, adoption and separation. Kirsty can also provide advice regarding domestic violence and protection orders.
Kirsty is also able to advise on criminal defence matters including drug offending, violence, dishonesty, traffic related offences and limited licences. Kirsty is also a Legal Aid registered provider and regularly represents clients in the Queenstown District Court.
Kirsty also advises on employment and civil litigation matters. Kirsty has acted for both employer and employee clients. She is available to advise on matters surrounding employment agreements, personal grievances (for example where you or your employee claim to have been fired unfairly), civil disputes, contract disputes or to attend mediations.
Kirsty graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws. Before joining the firm Kirsty spent time working as a Judges’ Clerk at Dunedin District Court, and as a lawyer in Invercargill, specialising in litigation. Kirsty enjoys complex legal research and completed her Honours dissertation in domestic violence.
Kirsty was originally from Foxton and has since spent much time living and working on the Otago region and has developed close ties to the area. In her spare time Kirsty enjoys travelling, reading, running and spending time with her family in Wanaka.
